Larry Smith, P.E. joins GT Environmental, Inc.’s (GT) Westerville, Ohio office as a Principal Consultant.  Larry has over 22 years experience in the public and private sectors in the areas of Phase I and II environmental site assessments (ESAs), brownfield projects, compliance assessments, and remediation.  Projects include managing brownfield programs for municipalities, securing federal and state brownfield grant funding, obtaining “covenants not to sue” for industrial clients under state brownfield initiatives, conducting soil and groundwater remediation approaches for industrial clients, and evaluating Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) compliance issues.

Larry has assisted in writing and implementing U.S. EPA brownfield grants for 13 communities in the Midwest, totaling $5,600,000.  He has also written and implemented brownfield grants under the Ohio Department of Development’s Clean Ohio Revitalization Fund program, helping to secure over $5,000,000 for seven communities.

Larry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.  He is a Certified Professional (CP133) under the Ohio EPA VAP; a Licensed Remediation Specialist (LRS) in West Virginia; and is a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio.
